The official hiatus will most likely last from today, July 28, 2009, to midnight of Thursday, August 20, 2009. Even after the hiatus, I will have no guarantees of posting on time, because I have a busy life, but I'll do my best.

Chapter 6
Twisted Truths (excerpt)

...As though to answer my previous question, I heard the creak of the door. We all instantly straightened as my elder sister stepped into the room.

From what I’d said before, most people would think of Erica as some annoying blonde bimbo, with the way that my foster parents kept her safely away at college most of the time. In truth, she was petite and sweet-looking, with large doe-like eyes and short-cut sandy hair, with a large smile that showed off her braces. The only problem was that she was a little too innocent for her own good, and guys---good and bad alike---were quickly drawn in by that. It was better that she stayed at college with friends who looked out for her instead in the harsh atmosphere of NYC.

“Risa!” She squealed as I gave her a weak smile, but the enthusiasm was a little feigned. She seemed tired, and she wiped at a drop of moisture on her cheek. My heart sank even further. What was going on?

“Hey, Eric,” I smiled back, giving her a hug and trying to put on a cheerful face for her sake. “What’s up?”

“Ah, nothing much…oh, hey!”

She seemed to have finally caught sight of Gabriel, who carefully laid Foster down on the old armchair pressed against the wall, and then awkwardly stood to offer my sister his hand.

“This is Gabriel,” I said nervously as Gabriel gave her a wide, enchanting smile. She looked utterly charmed.

I feel your pain, sister.

“Nice to meet you,” she finally cooed, but more in a big-sister way, not in a way that would make me worried. Not that I had a right to be worried about a guy who didn’t know about my massive crush on him and probably had a girl stowed away somewhere, anyway.

Then, all my resentful thoughts and self-loathing for managing to fall into like with Gabriel was gone, because Erica was giving me a familiar, calculative look.

“Got over Patrick pretty fast, didn’t you?”

Oh no. She. Did. Not.

“Eric!” I wailed. “He’s my friend!”

Gabriel was giving both of us a startled look.

“Um…” he began, but Erica was already backing up at the furious look on my face.

“Alright, alright, sis! Easy!”

She held up her hands in surrender, but not before I saw the twinkle in her eye. That was both a blessing and a curse; a curse because she obviously knew now that at least I had more than friendly feelings in this relationship, and a blessing because, whatever was up with our parents, it certainly wasn’t bothering her now. I had managed to distract her and wind her down, and that would help later when Marcus and I teamed up to interrogate her, which is what we always did. It was sort of the good cop, bad cop routine.

“Did you all eat anything?”

Erica patted Gabriel on the shoulder in an approving sort of way that made Marcus glare at her, and then walked towards the kitchen.

“I’m not really hungry,” I called back.

“Mark?”

Marcus sighed and stood up, his fierce scowl telling me that he knew that she was about to ask him exactly what his problem was towards “Marisa’s new boy”. That was one of the reasons I hated it when Erica was home. She always was prying into my business...

Okay, so today my question is, Should I or should I not make an official website for my authorship?

I mean, I have this LiveJournal and everything for story updates...

But I wanted a website that could have extended summaries, character pics and stuff like that.

So what do you guys think?

Death Do Us Part
NEW!

Chapter 1 (Unreceptive) CURRENTLY BEING WRITTEN

Pencil

Chapter 2 written uploaded (Remember, this story is only updated once a month)

FANFICTION.NET

Though I have not as yet uploaded any stories on my Fanfiction account (Amelie Gray), I am planning to upload the following three stories, most likely in a few weekends when I actually have time:

Reverse Attraction (Leah Clearwater romance)

The Fast Side of Life (Renesmee Cullen)

False Affections (based on Tess of the D'Urbervilles)

Aidaa (Yu-Gi-Oh fanfic for my best friend)

I'll probably work on Aidaa and Reverse Attraction first, because I only want to do a few stories at a time instead of biting off more than I can chew.

MIBBA

Twisted Magick

This story will be discontinued because I think I'd much rather post it on Fictionpress; it will probably be posted after I complete Pencil.

I will probably not be updating this account for a while at all.

Lady of the Tigres

Chapter 5: Animal Magnetism (preview)

"What did you do to that boy?" Miranda demanded finally on the fifth day when I could no longer find a place to put the rose bouquets. I was standing on a chair in the kitchen, placing the latest arrivals in a plain glass jar on the top of the refrigerator. It wasn’t going so well; the chair was rickety and I was pretty well-fed, so most of the water from the jar was sloshing over the side and onto the floor.

"Ugh..." I nearly fell and quickly grabbed onto the handle of the refrigerator for balance. "Why is everyone assuming that I did something just because he’s flooding me with flowers?"

Miranda didn’t say anything as I finally secured the jar and clambered back down onto the wet floor, just raised her eyebrow at me as though she knew something that even I didn’t.

"He likes you," she said suddenly, and I slipped on the wet puddle under my feet, landing on my behind.

"Wha-aat?" I gasped, sprawled out on the floor in all directions. The twins leaned over me, pointing and giggling like I was the funniest thing they’d ever seen, but I could barely pay attention. As soon as I recovered, I demanded, "Why would you think that?"

Miranda gave me a shocked look.

"I thought it was obvious. Why? He’s not your boyfriend? You all seemed pretty cozy the last few weeks…"

"I made that clear when you first met him," I said through gritted teeth. "And what was so obvious?"

Miranda turned back around to face the sizzling omelet she was flipping on the stove.

"Just the little things: the way his eyes soften when he looks at you, the gentleness in his voice when he says your name, the protective glare he gave that other boy---Sebastian, isn’t he?---when he kissed you on the cheek last week…" She made a hand gesture. "And now, all these flowers. It looks as though Gabriel had to rob a florist to get all of these for you."

When I didn’t answer, she smiled at me over her shoulder.

"Don’t worry honey, I approve. He’s a nice boy, better than that other jerk you used to date." She made a face. "What was his name again?"

I still didn’t reply. Her words were still ringing in my head.

He likes you…

You can probably expect this chapter by the end of the next week, as I have SATs to study for, and this is still half-finished...

Hey, I'm Elyssa Morales...but considering that my Journal has that all over it, you already know that...so, uh, I guess I ought to explain this LiveJournal...

I have three different accounts on which I post my stories:

1) Fictionpress (Elyssa Morales)

2) Mibba (lady.heartstring)

3) Fanfiction.net (Amelie Gray) [But don't bother checking this one, because there's only one story and it's on hiatus because I'm too busy with the other two sites]

Stories I am working on that I would really appreciate comments and feedback on:

Lady of the Tigres

Marisa Clarke was unwanted from the moment she was born and her parents dumped her into foster care. But after her seventeenth birthday, she's caught in an ancient rivalry between a family of shapeshifting cats and their ancient enemies, the werewolves.

Twisted Magick

It's hard being a budding mage: what with a crush on the one boy in the whole academy who probably doesn't care whether or not you live or not, a half-fox familiar who's constantly getting herself into trouble, and the curse of an insane mother hanging over your head...and yet, Judyth is hoping that maybe this year will be a bit different... Or will it?

Pencil

Though Mia's imaginary friend promised not to leave her, he did. Now, Ethan's abandonment has caused a trauma that is keeping her from completing her first novel. When Ethan comes back, Mia must face her past and try to forgive him for everything.

Okay, that's it for now! Please review...
